Word up, horror homey! My name's Jason Arnopp and I'm the boss around here. I'm a freelance writer based in London, England, with my first novel out now in the UK and US through Black Flame. An officially licensed Friday The 13th novel, it's titled Friday The 13th: Hate-Kill-Repeat. You can read my web journal for more details on its creation and my weekly activities. You can also see more details at Amazon US or Amazon UK.
I worked on the UK rock mag Kerrang! for about 14 years and continue to write for the likes of Doctor Who Magazine, SFX, Heat, Closer, Bizarre, Word, Metal Hammer (in which I run the film reviews section, also titled Slasherama) and The Dark Side over here.
As you might imagine from this site, I love slasher movies, but have always intended this site to cover horror in general, as well as a little action or sci-fi. I'm a mad Doctor Who fan, as you can see from my account of the BBC's media launch for the new show.
I've written two music-related books: the first being an unofficial biography for the band Slipknot, titled Inside The Sickness, Behind The Masks.
The last book of mine to be released was about Brit rockers The Darkness, titled Permission To Rock! - The Unofficial Book. Take a look, if that's your bag. Baby.
As of September 2005, we have a new message board, which I'd like you to swarm over like some kind of mutated giant wasp.
We also run a free newsletter for the hardcore types who want to keep up with what's going on with Slasherama. So what is going on with us? UK residents will find the UK DVD & Cinema Release Schedule handy. There's also a Slasher Movie Buyer's Guide, which offers ratings for well over 200 movies, plus links to places where you can buy them.
Take a look at my on-line interactive e-story, Blackthorn, which you can currently read on the site. It's not exactly the finest thing I ever wrote, having been created years back, but hopefully you'll enjoy the experience of making choices in a slasher movie scenario.
Somewhere around the middle of 2005, I decided to really make a go of this site, with regular updates, fresh design work and new content. Hope you'll come along for the ride: it's been nice to meet you. I'll be right baaaaaaacccckkkk...
