[Halloween's Region 1 DVD sleeve. Click here to check it out at Amazon]

HALLOWEEN (1978)
Summary: The grand-daddy of all the masked stalker movies. Certainly not the best in terms of gore or even action, but deserving of classic status and respect.

Availability...
Region 1 DVD or NTSC VHS.  Region 2 DVD or PAL VHS

Rating out of five: Rating: five out of five

[Halloween II's Region 1 DVD sleeve. Click here to check it out at Amazon]

HALLOWEEN II (1981)
Summary: John Carpenter's sequel which literally picks up where the first movie left off. More violent than the first, which is no bad thing.

Rating out of five: Rating: four out of five

[Halloween III's Region 1 DVD sleeve. Click here to check it out at Amazon]

HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH (1982)
Summary: Michael Myers doesn't appear in this one, but it's a great horror movie regardless. Tom Atkins stars as the man trying to discover what sinister motives lie behind the Silver Shamrock corporation. Uncut these days after years of censorship in the UK, this one is a disturbing corker.

Availability...
Region 1 DVD or NTSC VHS.  Region 2 DVD or PAL VHS

Rating out of five: Rating: five out of five

[Halloween 4's Region 1 DVD sleeve. Click here to check it out at Amazon]

HALLOWEEN 4: THE RETURN OF MICHAEL MYERS (1988)
Summary: After Halloween III did disappointing business, The Shape came back to the series, though without John Carpenter's involvement. This one certainly has its moments.

Availability...
Region 1 DVD or NTSC VHS.  Region 2 DVD or PAL VHS

Rating out of five: Rating: three-and-a-half out of five

[Halloween 5's Region x DVD sleeve. Click here to check it out at Amazon]

HALLOWEEN 5: THE REVENGE OF MICHAEL MYERS (1989)
Summary: The series' weakest entry, partly due to the fact that Myers is chasing a little girl who you just know he's not going to kill. Does feature a nifty gardening-fork-in-forehead gag, though.

Availability...
Region 1 DVD or NTSC VHS.  Region 2 DVD or PAL VHS

Rating out of five: Rating: 2.5 out of five

[Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers' Region 1 DVD sleeve. Click here to check it out at Amazon]

HALLOWEEN: THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS (1995)
Summary: This, the series' sixth entry, is widely derided, but features some pretty cool ideas, such as Michael being appropriated by a Satanic cult. It makes little sense, but is darkly entertaining nevertheless.

Availability...
Region 1 DVD or NTSC VHS.  Region 2 DVD or PAL VHS

Rating out of five: Rating: three-and-a-half out of five

[Halloween H20's Region 1 DVD sleeve. Click here to check it out at Amazon]

[Halloween Resurrection's Region 1 DVD sleeve. Click here to check it out at Amazon]

HALLOWEEN RESURRECTION (2002)
Summary: Jamie Lee Curtis only appears in part of this one, the eighth episode. The internet theme already seems old, but the delivery and gore are sound. Features Busta Rhymes. Read our cinema review.

Rating out of five: Rating: four out of five

[Happy Birthday To Me's NTSC VHS sleeve. Click here to check it out at Amazon]
