FANTOM KILER (TERAZ) Head Count: Tag-line: None, apart from 'Warning: Extreme Erotic Horror!!'. Death Toll: Six people, including a couple of flashback murders. Cutting Remarks: 'Fantom Kiler' is undoubtedly one of the more ludicrously extreme slasher movies you're likely to see. In truth, it's more of a horrific soft-verging-on-hard porn flick than a slasher movie, being a lurid male fantasy from start to finish. Supposedly a Polish film, it seems to deliberately enjoy pushing the envelope of good taste.          Despite being clearly low-budget, there is a certain amount of style in director Roman Nowicki's work. It's Dario Argento's style, but style nonetheless! There is plenty of high heel fetishism and close-ups on mad eyeballs, a la 'Tenebrae' and plenty of red light. The plot is virtually non-existent - full of mysogynist men and unbelievably vacuous female characters. You'll be amazed at the number of absurd reasons for women to remove their clothes in this movie. Lovers of the female form will be glad they did, however, as these ladies have positively pneumatic physiques! They all seemed to have been covered in oil, as well. Interesting.          The violence which the titular Fantom Kiler deals out is very nasty, if rarely dependent on prosthetic gore. A couple of women are stabbed in the genitalia, in scenes which make 'The Evil Dead''s much-maligned 'tree rape' sequence look like Bugs Bunny. Don't ever expect to see 'Fantom Kiler' released in the UK - the combination of full-frontal nudity and knife-slashing gore will never find favour with the BBFC. The Fantom himself seems to have a Candyman-esque erotic effect on his female victims, which makes the film even less defensible, as it could be seen to veer into 'She was asking for it' realms. In truth, however, this doesn't appear to be a film which takes itself very seriously at all - approach it in the same spirit and you'll have fun. One-handed viewers will particularly enjoy themselves... Most Memorable Demise: The first, which seems to stretch out forever! That girl takes a while to die... Look Out For: A surreal sequence in which a young lady invites a moustachioed cleaner to slide the handle of a wooden spoon up her backside. Killer Quote: "She certainly left this world with more holes than when she arrived" - a sensitive cop examines the Kiler's latest corpse.
