INSIDE (2008)
Rating/5:
The Review: French horror films don't come along very often, but when they do, they tend to be something special. Inside, aka L'Interieur, has a similar hard-hitting impact to Alexandre Aja's Haute Tension/Switchblade Romance, as well as putting its lead lady (Alysson Paradis) through similar amounts of blood-caked hell. Paradis' pregnant character Sarah loses her husband in a car crash, and promptly enters a world of numb grief, merely existing. Then a woman in black (distinguished actress Beatrice Dalle) turns up at Sarah's house on Christmas Eve - and she's not delivering festive gifts. This intruder wants something from Sarah, and anyone who stands in her way will die horribly. Inside is a notably extreme piece of work, awash with nasty gore, but also a very classy affair. The two female leads go at both the intense emotion and action hammer and tongs, and the whole thing has to be one of the more gripping horror flicks in a while. Splendid! DVD Details: A 40-minute making-of, and a trailer. [Home] © Copyright Slasherama 2002-present |
